Credentials · what they mean for you
The paperwork behind the work.
Anyone can call themselves an electrician. What sets Hobbs Electrical Group apart is a chain of verifiable credentials and a documented paper trail behind every job. Here is exactly what each one means — in plain English — and why it matters to you.
NAPIT Part-P Registered — No. 82220
NAPIT is a government-authorised competent-person scheme for electrical work. Our registration number, 82220, is verifiable.
→ Notifiable work in your home is self-certified to Building Regulations Part P through us — no separate building-control inspection and no separate fee.
JIB Gold Card engineers
The JIB Gold Card is the electrical industry's benchmark for a fully qualified electrician — recognised qualifications, assessed on-site competence and current health & safety, issued independently.
→ The person in your home or on your site has proven their competence to a national body — not simply declared it on a website.
18th Edition BS 7671 certified
BS 7671 is the British Standard for electrical installations — the national wiring regulations. The 18th Edition is the current version, and everything we install is designed and tested to it.
→ Your certificate is measured against the same standard a surveyor, insurer or building-control officer will expect.
City & Guilds 2919-01 — EV charging
A dedicated qualification covering the design, installation and testing of electric-vehicle charging equipment.
→ Your EV charger is installed and certified by an engineer qualified specifically for it, with OZEV grant eligibility advised where it applies.
Our own qualified team — no subcontracting
Every job is carried out by Hobbs' own engineers, with over 25 years of combined electrical experience between them. We do not subcontract.
→ The standard, and the accountability, stay with one firm from your first call to the final certificate.
Full documentation on handover
Where a job is notifiable or requires certification, you receive the relevant certificate — minor works, installation, or an EICR — on completion.
→ You hold a traceable record you can pass to a buyer, an insurer or a landlord's agent, whenever you need it.
